The Kilimbi washing station has four full time staff which increases dramatically to 100 seasonal workers during peak season, a necessity for helping to handle and process the harvests of the 463 farmers that provide cherries to the station.
They are dedicated to improving farming practices and quality for the producer's livelihoods and for their customers. Last season through the Farmer Field Schools program, a nursery of 50,000 seedlings was nurtured and distributed to their farmer partners across the Nyamasheke region. This program helps them train and educate small coffee producers in better agricultural practices in order for them to gain better yields from their trees.
